I’m thrilled to announce that Gabriel Mecklenburg, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Hinge Health, will join the Quit Genius Board of Directors.
Gabriel brings with him years of valuable experience in the digital health space. He is a skilled operator having co-founded Hinge Health in 2015, which has scaled to become the leading digital musculoskeletal (MSK) clinic for health plans and employers, earning a $6.2B valuation and raising $1B in funding along the way.
In scaling Hinge Health, Gabriel faced many of the same challenges and opportunities that Quit Genius is now experiencing. His approach embodies the entrepreneurial characteristics of being bold, ambitious and resilient. He has acted as an informal advisor to Quit Genius for several years, where his judgment and insights have already proven invaluable to our success.
Prior to Hinge Health, Gabriel graduated top of his class at Cambridge University and conducted several years of research in Bioengineering at Imperial College London. He subsequently co-founded Marblar, a product development company focused on the healthcare space.
“I’ve been watching Quit Genius since its early days,” said Mecklenburg. “I knew based on their passion and transformative product that the company would do great things, and I’m honored to now be working alongside them, helping to support that journey. There are certainly parallels between MSK and addiction treatment, and much we can learn from each other.”
Gabriel joins the board at an exciting time. Quit Genius is the category leading digital clinic in the nascent virtual substance addiction space. Our vision, to help 100 million people overcome their substance addictions, will require us to make deep investments in our infrastructure and scale every part of the organization. Having the opportunity to work in tandem – drawing from his approach to navigating and expanding partnerships with employers and health plans within the U.S. – will prove to be an immeasurable pillar to success for Quit Genius.
I’m very excited for the future and continuing to learn from Gabriel as we transform the addiction space.
